Carry on regardless

Hey I have realised one, big thing, that is that whether or not I’m losing weight, cutting the crap out of my diet I feel great.

No acid reflux, little flatulence either way I really feel better than I have for a long time physically and mentally.

I am not saying my life is perfect but I do feel more able to come up with solutions, I also think I’m calmer and in a much better place than I’ve been for a long time.

So the new health lifestyle is a change for the better and it is staying

Back on Track

image

I came home from work at midday, after another 4am start, i grabbed a reluctant Stella, set my app for 1 hour, and ran.
I completed 4 miles plus and scored, 46 runners heroes points.
Stella was looking at me by the end as if to say enough.

Even though im stretching through a proper routibe begore and after,  my calves are killing, so is my left knee, however i feel great, now that I’m recovering.

A late start tomorrow, means i hope to get another run in, sometime tomorrow.
After another walk with Stella, I feel fantastic, muscles don’t ache, anymore. Although my knee is nagging, I enjoyed this afternoons activities.

Why, Because I CAN I CAN I CAN you just watch me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New targets

Did 4 miles in 1 hr 3 minutes, which to be fair was a mix of running and walking,

image

It’s a lovely sunny afternoon, stella and I enjoyed the run the the woods, encountered a couple of other dog walkers who stella mostly ignored, more interested in keeping her eye on me, in case I git out of sight.

image

She’s doing well for a 7 year old, well in her years 49, and she keeps up.

My muscles are sore and I’m stretching as much as possible.

With all this running, Clarence and I really need to buckle down, on the dietary discipline, I’m good at spreading my lunch out now, but really must eat breakfast, (as Clarence seems to get annoyed when I don’t, ) and when I get an opportunity to have an extra …….. I am not assertive enough, with Clarence to say no.

But I know I’ll get there because I CAN I CAN I CAN you just watch me!!!!!!!!

Greedy Clarence

image

Ok I need some suggestions, although I have Clarence under control eating regularly, when he sees extra feeding opportunity he takes them, before my intellect gets a chance to say “do you want ……” so the biscuit or cake is devoured.
Yes I’ve started running again and I’m burning the calories, and I e been fairly hard on the calorific front, always trying to stick to 2000 a day esp on a non running day.
So because I know that I CAN I CAN I CAN you just watch me!!!!! I just need that psychological key to maintain my discipline when faced with a choice that I really don’t want but Clarence does?

Week 2 run 2

image

Had breakfast as I wasn’t expecting to be able to run this morning, but then the mornings job cancelled, so grabbed stella,

image

Set my app for a thirty minute run, and ran, averaging 13.5 minutes a mile, slow but it feels good, plus according to the app I burnt 433 calories.
To say I’m awake and raring to go is an understatement, Clarence just wants more, which is a good thing, as it
means when I can fit a run in, Clarence will not fight against me.

You know I CAN I CAN I CAN you just watch me!!!!!!!!!!

Week 2 run 1 interval

image

Week 2 begins with 10 min speed walk followed by 5 sets of run, walk for minute intervals finished with a five minute cool down. 1.75 miles in 25 minutes.

Starting wor at 9, I started out running at 8.15.

Clarence is relaxed, I suppose any excess adrenalin in my system is gone.
I’ll grab a quick coffee then off to work, because I CAN I CAN I CAN you just watch me!!!!!!!!!!

The difference a week makes

image

Well you guys and gals know I started running again last week, I weighed 15st 10 last Sunday, this morning I weighed in at 14St12 so to say I’m chuffed, (Clarence too) is an understatement.

Truths are however, that was week 1 where the loss was likely to be dramatic, and next week is not likely to be so drastic. .
Also I’ve cut my sugar down, only half a spoon in normal coffee, and none in Caramel coffee.
I’ve cut out crisps again, and not really replaced them in my lunch Box.
With the help of rule number 1 in the chimp paradox, “do I want this……..” I’ve managed to spread my lunch box out through the day, every day last week, so I  would eat an hour after starting work, then every two hours religiously, so that Clarence knew I wouldn’t let him go hungry, but wasn’t going to binge my box, within an hour of starting work.

See I know I CAN I CAN I CAN you just watch me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First run back, from injury

image

Ok it’s been a couple of months, so eased myself back in, with a 25 minute interval run, 10 min warm up then a minute steady run, a minute power walk, finishing with a 5 steady walk.
Adding in the extra minutes walking, a good 2 mile run.

It feels great to be back, and Stella

image

Seemed to enjoy it too.

Hopefully it’ll help me get rid of this feeling if un spent energy I’ve had recently.

The after run feeling, is great and I am thinking I’m gonna ease myself in slowly, repeating that interval system twice more this week at least.

See I CAN I CAN I CAN you just watch me!!!!!!!!r

Rest day Sunday

After all the walking and running I’ve done over the last two days it’s a rest day for me, although I’m walking Stella as usual.

image

It’s a bright October morning and I’m in my hoody and track bottoms, not my height of fashion stuff bought over last two days.

image

Well I intend to have my favourite breakfast Scrambled eggs on wholemeal toast upon my return from walkjngbthr hound, and I’ll prob also have the whites from Lou’s poached eggs as she can’t stand the white.

Walking thru Fridaywoods my thoughts once again imagine what legions have walked these anxient woods, the Romans, the  Norman possibly even the Vikings. It’s something that really has galvanised my curiosity.

image

It’s not hard to see why the MOD will not let these woods br destroyed by the developers. Ok they’ve made changes to allow vehicular access, and the national grid stretches across its vastness.

image

Although it does make me wonder what some of these ancient oaks have seen

In there lifetime. The civil war, Round heads and cavaliers. The Romans established Camolodnum which later became Colchester, and remains to my knowledge the oldest garrison town in the uk.

One thing I note, is all the berries still on the bushes, which the  doomsayers would have us believe points to a harsh winters approach, which I suppose makes a little sense when you think of the Squirrels hoarding their stashes away for winter.
