When you fall off the horse get straight back on

I’m walking in the woods with Stella

The sky is changing from black to a cloudless blue,  and there’s a clear half moon in the sky and a frost whitens the ground. 

And I’m finally shaking off the cold that has slowed me down over the last 2 weeks. 

I must get motivated again and make a fitness plan. it’s frustrating getting a cold (even though I’m virtually immune to the flu and bronchitis according to the flu camp I tried to attend) it’s demoralising, colds slow you down,  make you tired and grumpy. 

So  once I’ve shaken off the cough that remains I pledge to run at least twice a week. and workout equally twice a week. 

You can knock me down, but you ain’t ever gonna stop me!!!!

De motivated 

It is said, when you don’t want to do something is definitely the time you should. 

Stopping the intensity of my running was a mistake, I admit some of the problem is work being so intense too, but Im really demotivated, at the moment. 

However instead of running, this morning I dif the NYX legs bum and tum workout this morning.

Set 1 10 sit ups 10 laying leg raises 10 squats 

Set 2 25 of the above 

Set 3 same as set 1. 

And I can tell you it’s a real killer, by the time you’ve done 25 leg raises your abs are burning. 

Well I can still say I CAN I CAN I CAN you just watch me!!!!!!!!!!

One fast mile

This morning I set off slow,  taking a 13 minute warm up mile,  but the second was my fastest yet,  10 minutes 40 and the third a slow down back to a 13 minute pace. As you can see I reached a speed burst of a 6.30 pace but only for a 200M burst.

I certainly appear to be getting fitter,  and by the ache in my glutes my recent squats seem to be having a good effect.  I’ll run again tomorrow,  I might try to beat today’s time or maybe an interval run.

Because I CAN I CAN I CAN you just watch me! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Blown away the cobwebs

My Saturday morning, starts with the usual coffee,then I grab stella and her lead.

And run 1.6 miles in under 15 mins burning 268 calories apparently.

Clarence is confused,had my sister on the phone last night, in tears, virtually begging me to go see her over the weekend,
1 I was planning to go next weekend
2 we’re already going xmas shopping and away, but I could not say that to her, I know I prob should have but I felt guilty wanting to enjoy myself.

Pilates 15

By walking the dog, and 15 minutes pilates. My abs are burning after that believe me I’m left not understanding why more men don’t do it.
I know it’s seen as a women’s thing, but guys in the privacy of your own home with only the dog watching.

I may have been a bit hard on my sister

Yesterday, the anaesthetist hadn’t signed off on her op this coming Monday until late yesterday, and my sister was plastering it all over Facebook. But I think it was my intellect was asking why plaster thus all over social media, and my logic suggested the aaaah factor, what else could it be. Don’t get me wrong I feel sorry for her but it worries me now what happens after its over. Everyone is watching, so if I know her she’s centre of attention, it worries me that, that will all fade away.

11:00 minute mile

Set Runtastic to 11:30 pace grabbed stella and did a 2 mile run, what I achieved was an 11 minute mile pace completing the 2 miles in 22:01
I’ll get back to the flat, stretch and have a peanut butter and marmite sandwich in dark rye ryvitas.

Clarence seems to want to spurt me on again, obviously appreciating that a fitter me, is a fitter Clarence. (If you’re new to my blog, Clarence is the name I give my inner chimp. If you’ve not read THE CHIMP PARADOX I know I sound mad)

Yoga monday

Easy day today, walk the dog, and then 10 minutes yoga guided by the SWORKIT app, thru a range of mountain pose, downward dog, head to knee along with other various poses.

It was a foggy walk for stella, and the yoga did help my shoulder and pins and needles in my left arm, but the Naproxen, seems to be getting thru as the sensation is not as bad, but it has revealed the cause I think, as my shoulder was so painful yesterday, I believe in hindsight that is or was a trapped nerve.
I’m waiting for my phone to ring to despatch me to wherever to mahe whatever collection and delivery.

I hope you’re not reading this while having your breakfast, but this is me after 5 minutes stretches 10 mins core strength and a further 5 minutes stretches.
Unless I start early it’s going to be hard to fit in a run, so I’ve downloaded SWORKIT a series of Yoga, Strength, cardio and stretching workouts.
I will still fit in at least three runs per week.

My sister has her appt for a second more detailed ECG, havingng the op cancelled has shaken her, but the ecg is scaring her.

My brother has had no further niggles from his kidney stones, and us hoping to avoid surgical  procedures going up his manhood.

Oh well a change is as good as a rest, and I’ve burned over 200 calories with walking stella thus morning.
