Welcoming the rain

There’s something refreshing about the first rain after a hot spell, to state the obvious, the air becomes fresher, there’s something strangely nice about standing in it briefly, getting wet.

Then there’s something satisfying about watching a thunder storm, watching the giant forks of lightning, then almost childlike, 1 2 3 ..67 boooom, the crack was about 7 miles away. Again going outside the lightning has cleared the closeness of the atmosphere.

Then suddenly you realise Autumn is approaching, is it time to put the shorts away, but not quite time to get the winter gear out. Stop buying salad stuff, and buy the winter warmer ingredients you look forward to, mince for the cottage pie?
