But ya never gonna keep me down.
Music fans of the 90s will know I’ve borrowed these words from Chumba Wumba, but it’s true for me.
Friday I arrived at my destination, saw my customers van, parked next to him, and began unloading, next thing the Hotel manager, comes out and has a go at my customer and then “and you, why the f*** have you parked there, you’re blocking my f***ING entrance?” The old me would’ve either let Clarence respond with an angry retort, which would’ve probably got me sacked, or gone into myself, but no I took a deep breath and answered him as assertively as I could, “I’m sorry sir I saw my customer, and thought I’d be ok to park next to him.” I continued “But there’s no need to be so aggressive, you only had to say, excuse me, you’re blocking the entrance to the complex, and I would’ve willingly moved over? ”
He did not respond, as I left I let my boss no what’d happened in case the hotel manager phoned to complain.
I think I could have been, more assertive, removing more emotion from my delivery but I didn’t respond angrily to be bullied, in my opinion.
Just goes to show I CAN I CAN I CAN you just watch me! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
